I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
